- The Light and Glory of the Word The Spirit breathes upon the word, And brings the truth to sight; Precepts and promises afford A sanctifying light. A glory gilds the sacred page, Majestic like the sun; It gives a light to every age, It gives, but borrows none. The hand that gave it still supplies The gracious light and heat; His truths […]...

- Light Shining out of Darkness God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform; He plants His footsteps in the sea, And rides upon the storm. - Sonnet: I said I splendidly loved you; it's not true I said I splendidly loved you; it’s not true. Such long swift tides stir not a land-locked sea. But there are wanderers […]...

- Light Light, my light, the world-filling light, The eye-kissing light, Heart-sweetening light! - My Country in Darkness After the wolves and before the elms The bardic order ended in Ireland. - Who Ever Loved That Loved Not at First Sight? It lies not in our power to love or hate, For will in us is overruled by fate. - Sonnet 36 – When we met first and loved, I did not build When we met first and loved, I did not build Upon the event with marble.
