Beyond Siberia Again Siberia
Beyond Siberia again Siberia,
Beyond impenetrable forest again forest.
And beyond it waste ground,
Where a blizzard of snow breaks loose.
The blizzard has handcuffs, and the snow-
Storm has a knife which kills at once….
I will die, pay a debt
For others who live somewhere,
Out of spite, out of fear and terror,
Out of pain, out of a nameless grave….
Beyond the wall another wall,
On the wall stopped dead one sentinel.

- Last Word To Childhood Ice-cold fear has slowly decreased As my bones have grown, my height increased. Though I shiver in snow of dreams, I shall never Freeze again in a noonday terror. I shall never break, my sinews crumble As God-the-headmaster’s fingers fumble At the other side of unopening doors Which I watch for a hundred thousand years. […]...

- My Book Before I drink myself to death, God, let me finish up my Book! At night, I fear, I fight for breath, And wake up whiter than a spook; And crawl off to a bistro near, And drink until my brain is clear. Rare Absinthe! Oh, it gives me strength To write and write; and so […]...

- The End of the World Here, at the end of the world, The flowers bleed As if they were hearts, The hearts ooze a darkness Like india ink, & poets dip their pens in & they write. “Here, at the end of the world,” They write, Not knowing what it means. “Here, where the sky nurses on black milk, Where […]...

- The Runaway Once when the snow of the year was beginning to fall, We stopped by a mountain pasture to say ‘Whose colt?’ A little Morgan had one forefoot on the wall, The other curled at his breast. - Forest Of Europe The last leaves fell like notes from a piano And left their ovals echoing in the ear; With gawky music stands, the winter forest Looks like an empty orchestra, its lines Ruled on these scattered manuscripts of snow. - Not Fear Not fear. Maybe, out there somewhere, The possibility of fear; the wall That might tumble down, because it’s for sure That behind it is the sea. Not fear.
